Labor Support Services
INFORMATIVE AND COMPASSIONATE
No matter your preferences of a hospital or home birth, your labor doula will:
Consult with you and your partner for an initial visit and answer all of your questions.
Listen and discuss your feelings, hopes, and intentions in regard to your upcoming delivery.
Provide 24/7 on-call availability, once you have retained Four States Doulas' services.
Answer questions or help you with concerns by phone, text or email.
Offer suggestions for reading material, childbirth classes, and upcoming events in your area.
Work with you to create your birth plan.
Meet you at your home for laboring before moving to a hospital or birth center.
Offer constant, productive support throughout the labor including: Relaxation and breathing techniques, Visualization exercises, Massage, Counter pressure and pressure point stimulation, Advantageous positional changes, and Helpful movements
Stay with you after delivery to help with your first breastfeeding experiences.
Visit you in home, after delivery, to answer any postpartum questions you may have and to reflect with you on your birth experience.
Postpartum Support
MOTHERING THE MOTHER
Pregnancy, birth and the early days of child rearing can be overwhelming. With Postpartum Support, the family receives assistance with baby care, light meal preparation, household chores, errands, or whatever is needed, including time to rest. This by-the-hour service could be just what you need during your family's transition.
Sibling Doula
An experienced mother may choose to have a Sibling Doula attend her older children while she is in labor.
What does a sibling doula do?
Meets with you and your partner for an initial consult and answers all of your questions
Meets with your older children for a play date twice before your labor to familiarize herself with routines and needs
Provides 24/7 on-call availability for you once service is retained
Arrives at your home one hour prior to your departure for your birth location
Provides 18 hours of child care
Prepares prearranged meals
Conducts light cleaning
Cares for and entertains older children
Does not transport children for any reason

CURRENT CLASS OFFERINGS
Comfort Measures Class
There are no guarantees in birth, but having your mind and body aligned with your desired birth plan provides a good shot. This three-hour class will cover the mind-body connection, relaxation techniques, comfort measures for early and active labor, breathing techniques, and ideas for varied pushing positions.
Baby Care Basics
This three-part class can be a package or piecemeal. The first three-hour class is all about caring for baby in the first weeks, such as bathing, diapering, and soothing. The second 2-hour class is about feeding with an emphasis on breastfeeding. The final 2-hour class focuses on safety and health of mom and baby.
Yoga
Jaimee also offers private and small-class prenatal yoga sessions in her studio. These are by appointment only.
