What Is A Doula?
The ancient Greeks used the word "doula" to mean "a woman who serves." The term "doula" now refers to a trained and experienced professional who provides constant emotional, physical, and informational support to the mother before, during and immediately after birth. Studies show that when doulas attend births, labor is shorter with fewer complications, and babies are born healthier and breastfeed easier.
Birth Consultation
We take on a limited number of clients at any one time to make sure we provide you the full care and attention you deserve. The Birth Consultation is the first meeting to make sure you and your doula are a good fit for your desired birth.
Pregnancy Support
Using evidence-based information and years of experience, we offer unwavering support to you and your family before, during. and after birth. We stay in close contact in order to routinely check how you’re doing and step in with anything you might need.
What a Doula Does
Sees birth as a vital experience the mother will remember for the rest of her life
Understands the emotional needs of a laboring woman as well as the physiology of birth
Helps the woman prepare for and implement her birth plan
Provides physical comfort, emotional support, and an unbiased viewpoint, as well as helping the woman make informed decisions about the birthing process
Assists in keeping good communication between the birthing woman, her clinical care providers, and her partner
A doula recognizes that her role is to protect and nurture the memory of the birth experience for the woman
